Addyson Grace

Addyson was born on October 28th, 2011.  When she was just two weeks old, I had the great pleasure of photographing her in her home...and she is adorable!

Mom was prepared for Addyson's first Halloween with the cutest caterpillar costume...

And big sister, Katie, couldn't be left out of the fun.  She was so happy to pose with her new little sister!

Welcome to the world, Addyson Grace!

The Cote Family

Is everyone else as still feeling the turkey hangover like I am? I hope that you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving! Today, I stayed inside and away from the crazy stores as much as possible...and now I have another family session to share!

Recently, Jason and I met the Cote family. They decided on a session at Wildwood, and I think they made a great decision! We had quite a windy day, but because Wildwood has so many places to "hide" from the wind, I think we did okay. I'll share a few of my personal favorites, but don't stop there! Check out the Cote Family Gallery at photographybyk.com. Enjoy!

And, don't miss the quick game of catch that transpired right in the middle of our session (you'll see it in the Cote Family's session video, below).  What a fun bunch!  I'm already looking forward to next year's pics!

Dalton - Whitmer HS Senior, 2012

I'd like to introduce you to Dalton! Dalton is a senior this year at Whitmer, and was reluctantly dragged scheduled to have his senior portraits done recently.  You know, he's very photogenic for a half-willing participant. :)

Even though these were more for mom than for him, Dalton really did warm up to me and my crazy ideas.  He even let me pose him next to dumpsters and garage doors (check out Dalton's full gallery at photographybyk.com to see what I mean!)  Ha!

Enjoy your senior year, Dalton!  Here are a few samples from his gallery:

And no post would be complete without the session video.  Enjoy!

The Klinks

Meet Kyle and Aimee.  They recently had a backyard photo session to commemorate buying their first home!  Well, okay, they've been in their home for a little while now, and this was supposed to be my housewarming gift to them.  It just took me longer than anticipated.  You know, first anniversaries are almost as good as the first day, right? :)

I digress...happy new(ish) home to Kyle and Aimee!  We had a beautiful session in their yard, and what a gorgeous yard it is!  (Though, I certainly don't envy Kyle, who is inevitably going to be in charge of raking up the multi-colored leaves.)

Their house happened to be decorated for their upcoming Halloween party when I arrived.  If you can't tell by the photos below, Kyle and Aimee?  Like to have some fun! (Sometimes, at the expense of their kitties: Pippa and Bowie.  Ha!)

And, of course, don't miss their video:

Find the Klink's entire gallery on photographybyk.com, too!  Have a great day!

The Becken Family

Twins!  Oh - this was such an exciting session!  Tiffany and I (and Jason, too) went to school together, and when we found out that she was moving home and wanted us to take some family portraits, we jumped at the opportunity.  Her twin girls are just about 3 1/2, and so darn cute!  Though - I seriously couldn't tell them apart.  I'd seen photos on Facebook, but in person, these two are exactly the same.  So much so that when we first started, and both girls were dressed alike, I kept glancing over for help from either Tiffany or Matt...my eyes pleading saying "which one am I looking at, here?" without actually saying it out loud.  Something tells me that they are used to that, because without prompting, I would point the camera in one direction and they would call the appropriate name.  If I didn't say it then, I will formally say it now...Thanks for the shout outs!  They saved the day!

Enjoy a few of my own favorites from our session at the 577 Foundation in Perrysburg.  Then, check out the Becken family gallery on photography.com for the rest!

Did I mention how thankful I was for the outfit change midway through our session?  The coordinating pink and white vests were sooooo very helpful in telling the girls apart! :)

Don't forget to peek at their session video, too!

Two families, one beautiful day in Dearborn!

About a week and a half ago, Jason and I met up with one of my favorite families, the Wodas.  They have recently moved north to Dearborn, so we took a mini road trip to meet them there for a session.  We found Ford field (no, not the big stadium in downtown Detroit...the smaller, local park with baseball fields, a park and even a small covered bridge) and had a ball!

While there, the Woda's dear friends, the Schymick family decided to join in the fun!  It was a beautiful fall day - the colors were really vibrant and we had sun and warm temps the whole time.  Here are a few samples from our sessions:

See more of the Woda Family's session at photographybyk.com.  Now, onto the Schymick Family:

The Schymick Family gallery can also be viewed in it's entirety at photographybyk.com.  Don't you agree that the Lions jerseys totally "made" their session?  Too cute!  I hope to see the Schymick family again soon!

Dont' forget...you can also peek at both of their session videos on the Photography By K YouTube Channel.  Hope you're out enjoying the fall, too!

Collin - Maumee HS Senior, 2012

Collin may look familiar if you happen to frequent my website and/or blog.  That's because I work with Collin's mom at Danberry - she's my "partner in crime" if you will ;) - and we've done some family pictures before (see here and here to refresh your memory).

Collin just happens to be a senior at Maumee HS this year, and is graduating in 2012.  We decided (and by "we" I literally mean his mother and I...why is it that most senior guys are reluctant about the picture taking process???) to take some portraits at Sidecut this fall.  We had an iffy weather day.  It was a bit windy, the rain threatened, and it was a quite literally gray.  I love shooting in gray skies though, because the sky is like one huge soft box...lovely light!  So, off we went!  I think we even got Collin to smile a few times....

Love that last one.  You can even see the rain, which I think is super cool.  Of course, thinking back, Collin probably doesn't think it's so cool, considering I kept him out of the nice toasty warm (and dry) car just to capture the shot...Collin, will you ever forgive me?  The next one make up for it with the awesome fall colors!
